Stichting Maatschappij en Criminaliteit (SMC)

The research foundation SMC was founded in 1996 and engages in:
- research into risk and delinquent behavior of young people and violence against children and young people
- research into risk and protective factors related to risk and delinquent behavior and violence against children
- evaluating legislation and policy in the field of (juvenile) crime, juvenile criminal justice and violence against children
- evaluating policy in the field of child protection and juvenile (criminal) law
- international consultations in the field of research into (juvenile) delinquency and criminology and into the prevention of risk behavior and delinquency and violence against children
- developing prevention programs and policy in the field of combating crime and violence
- developing educational material in the field of the prevention of delinquency and violence
- consulting and giving lectures and workshops to youth care and juvenile criminal justice professionals
